E3 2012 Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo Round Up!

E3 2012 Round Up

Well E3 2012 is all but over and with Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo getting their conferences out of the way earlier in the week I thought now would be a good time to do my big 3 round up which will start with Microsoft.

Microsoft this year I thought was very clockwork and very SSDY (Same S*** Different Year). Those words seem harsh I know but the only good things to come from MS this year (game wise at least) where Halo 4, Forza Horizons, Gears Judgement and Fable: The Journey with the same Call of Duty exclusive deals and the same for Resident Evil 6, which in my opinion where the best bits that came out of MS this year. Below you will find trailers for HALO 4, Gears Judgement, Forza and Fable.

HALO 4

This one I'm personally looking forward to it will be one of the main reasons I will get a new Xbox, but the trailer shows some gameplay and I have to say looks fantastic. There is also a live gameplay demo on YouTube to. So Bring on Halo 4 :).

Gears of War: Judgement

Not a big fan of this series I have played the previous games and enjoyed them but after gears 3 that was it for me, but this one does look very good and I look forward to giving it a try in the future

 Forza Horizon

I will be honest here I love the Forza series BUT this one looks too much like Need for Speed ProStreet, Test Drive Unlimited and Burnout Paradise to warrant me to want to play it right away, I think I will wait for more info to drop before I cast final judgement on it.

Fable: The Journey

Again love this series and I do like the look of this and to be honest alongside Star Wars Kinect this would warrant me to get a Kinect in the future!

A couple other things Microsoft announced was their new Internet Explorer for the 360 and Xbox SmartGlass both of which are shown in the below video.

Xbox SmartGlass and Internet Explorer

Now I will be honest there are a lot of devices now using the "SmartGlass" tech out of the box and it works very well but I can't see it becoming mainstream right away, IF Sony thought about it they could contest this with their remote play feature with the PS3 and VITA. But the Internet Explorer feature looks very effective all they need to do is sort the voice command lag and it would be damn near perfect.

Well that was Microsoft's major highlights they did announce some Kinect friendly XBLA games and features but asides those nothing else to major. So now onto Sony.

Now Sony at E3 this year won it for me they announced a lot of new games before the event and showed a lot of them off here this year. The only downside to Sony's presser this year was the lack of PSVita news or features but with that said they did announce several big titles for the device, 2 of which I showed in my Multiplatform E3 round up yesterday but others that are to come are Resident Evil 6, Sony All Star Battle Royal and Even Call of Duty. Below the biggest titles that Sony showed off at E3.

To start this off we have Quantic Dreams latest title Beyond: Two Souls now I loved heavy rain in fact I'm VERY close to getting the games Platinum Trophy but looking at the trailer for Beyond it looks very Different. Find the trailer for Beyond Below.
 Beyond: Two Souls

This title looks out standing and if Heavy Rain is anything to go by I can't wait for this one, It looks a lot more Darker than HR so bring it on. With a 2013 release date looks like 2013 will be a good year for games for the PS3.

Another PS3 only title hitting in 2013 is The Last of Us looks like a cross between Uncharted and I am Legend this one looks to be another stunner in Sony's gun.

The Last of Us (Gameplay)

Now this looks epic developed by Naughty Dog (Uncharted Series) we know that this one will be epic on every scale and looking at this gameplay footage we are in for another treat.

The final BIG title to come out of Sony this year was the prequel to one of the PlayStation’s biggest franchises God of War. God of War: Ascension takes place before the original game telling the story of how he became the leader of the Spartan armies and becomes the bad as we see in the later games. Watch the full gameplay footage below.

Along with those titles Sony went on to announce a new deal on PS+ all details of which a featured in the video below:

PS+ Features 2012

With various other titles announced for PS3 and PSVita game wise Sony did well at E3 this year. I just wish it had more vita-ness.

And last but by no means least is Nintendo.

Nintendo this year was very WiiU heavy at E3 which is great they showed a lot of surprising things, one thing that really shocked me was that Mass Effect 3 will be playable on the WiiU.
The WiiU to my knowledge at least has not had its specs and price point announced officially, but I expect it to be up to scratch with PS3 and 360 specs wise and price point at about £250 in the UK. For a list of Possible specs check out this article over on NowGamer. The WiiU will have a vast list of games come launch a list of which are below:

Assassin's Creed 3 (Ubisoft)

WiiU Game Trailers

ZombiU

 Assassians Creed III

 Zelda WiiU

Now looking at those titles it is safe to say Nintendo have really stepped things up greatly since the Wii which is awesome.

The 3DS was somewhat quiet at E3 this year it did a software showcase this week with games including Luigi's mansion 2, Paper Mario: Sticker Star, Scribblenauts Unlimited and New Super Mario Bros 2. Would of been nice to see more from Nintendo this year but with the WiiU I can't say I blame them.

Overall I think Sony won E3 in my mind purely on the PS+ announcement and the games shown above followed by Nintendo with the showing of WiiU and the games it can and will run looks outstanding then Microsoft they made an impact with me with HALO 4 and Fable: The Journey but besides from that and the new browser thing nothing really grabbed me out right. All 3 had decent E3's this year I was hoping for more from each of them but what we got was good enough
